What I am to share he
re is not something I heard, instead what my wife and I experienced about blood donation. My wife was to have hysterectomy because of a lump in her uterus. Her doctor advised that we need to get at least four bags of her blood type for transfusion during surgery. Her blood type is "B" and there was not enough to buy from blood banks. I had to look for donors like making calls to a military academy and large companies to ask for possible donors. Unfortunately, it was too immediate and they did not have enough time to ask people who had the same blood type who are willing to donate. The day before the surgery, the Red Cross and a hospital notified me that there were type "B" donations and two bags from each of them! Another good thing was learning that I have nephews who had the same blood type. Our family on my side commonly had type "O" blood. Just to make sure we had more than four bags, my nephews donated another two bags. All the donations were kept by the Medical Technicians department of the hospital. The cost of the blood from the Red Cross and hospital was $20.00 per bag. The condition with the hospital where my wife was to be operated on is for them to pay me back the same amount for any blood that would not be used. Read More . . .

Website Review: Sulit.com
There is a new web site I have joined for over a week now. It might be found to be semi-exclusive for Filipinos because the local language is predominantly used by members on the site. What really attracted me to join was the free ads it offers. Aside from that, there is membership upgrade but you don't have to shell out money. Upgrade can made with the number of credits a member earns. The upgrade system is unique. With a minimum of 10 credits you could upgrade for one day. That's not common with other web sites!
Sulit.com is also like a social site with an ebay-like system. You can find a Buy and Sell link there. Earning credits is simple, not complicated like other web sites. There are several ways to earn those credits. You can post their banner at your web site, invite friends, post comments and many others. I believe any English speaking nationality who joins will find it alright because most, if not all, members can communicate in English.
Guide to Investing in Stock Market
The first thing to make sure of is to have the money you can invest without worrying of any possible consequences that could happen in the stock market. Then, take some time to learn what to look for, read and study. Note what business the company is involved in, its rank in the industry, history, size, financial status and the officers of the company. Most stock market trading companies will have this information and brochures for that matter. It is important that you understand, know how to read and analyze the company's financial statements and annual reports. The assets and liabilities are important to know what the company owns and owes. How much their expenses are and how they spend it. It will also show the company’s earnings/profit after deducting costs, expenses, depreciation and taxes from their Gross Income. Good transparency of a company is a favorable characteristic. Basically, it is the reflection on how good the business is and how the people run the company. Buying and selling of shares will therefore really depend on some stock market tips or your understanding and gut feeling. Anticipation should be used if you are aware of business on goings while speculation could be used when there is a particular trend in the market. There are no guarantees in this kind of trading. Online stocks are available for online trading stock market investing without necessarily going to the actual stock market trading floor. Trading and price updates online are almost simultaneous with actual updates.
Stock market trading is involved in selling and buying shares of stocks and bonds of publicly listed companies. Meaning the common people can buy and own shares of stocks but not enough to be called a major stockholder. There are blue-chip shares of stocks and these are mostly of stable and well-known companies. People who invest in blue-chips are looking at the Return On Investments (ROI). This narrates to big dividends, cash or stock, or both. A substantial amount of money is involved for equally substantial dividends paid out in regular intervals. When business and economy is good, the share prices could also increase largely within a short period. If business is bad, share prices would not dive as low as non-blue-chip shares. Investors in blue-chip shares can afford to leave their investment in those stocks for a long time. The stock certificates they hold are very liquid, meaning it could be traded easily in a short period should there be a need for immediate cash. Some financial institutions even accept them as collaterals for loans.
For stocks not considered as blue-chip, they are those that are traded almost daily. This happens because of speculations that the price might go down for others, on the other hand, those who buy, try to buy low in speculation of a sudden increase in a very near future. These kinds of shares traded and change hand almost everyday are not issued stock certificates. They are termed as shares of stocks with "street certificates". An order and proof of purchase is sufficient to show ownership.
One of the stock market secrets is the Initial Public Offering (IPO) of a company’s stocks. As the acronym represents, it means the first time shares of stocks of a company to be traded on the floor. Most of the time IPOs give good profits for investors. The common reason behind this is the company has been in good business for quite some time (like Google for example), or, a new company that will go into a very promising business, like say, alternative fuel at a much lower cost. Before being actually traded on the floor, shares could have already been subscribed to, prior to the IPO (there is a term for that I just can't recall). If you are a client close to a stock market trader, chances are you will be one of the few offered for a limited number of shares prior to the IPO.
Beware though of "enhanced" financial statements like that of Enron, as an example. Some stock market rumors are reliable, but beware of insider trading. Insider traders could cause the price to go down so they can buy as many as they can, knowing it will go up in the very near future. Or, it could be otherwise. They could make a rumor that prices would go up so they could unload the shares they own because the company will be in the "red" within a short period. Patience is needed to succeed in stock market investment. Do not go for unverified rumors about some stocks that will hit it high in a short period. If you have the time, study, analyze and look for reliable references why stock prices would really go up. Lastly, the best thing to do is buy low and sell high. Stocks have a history of its prices and you will know the lowest it has gone and the highest it has achieved.
Online or Internet Services
Some time in February 2008, I was to be interviewed through an overseas telephone call but the interviewer specifically asked if I had VoIP. I informed them that I did not have one but it would be quite easy for me to subscribe to one. It was indeed easy but before I could use the facility, I did not know it became more complicated compared to one I subscribed to about 4 years ago. There was one I subscribed to for that telephone interview but I had to pay outright $10.00 to use the VoIP. Though usage charge was low, I did not have any use for it further and it expired after 3 months.
Now, I came
across www.axacore.com that offers VoIP and also has VoIP
Fax services and more. In navigating the
site, it would definitely serve companies and businessmen that frequently fax
documents or volumes of it to several locations. That
would be one of the advantages of their Fax broadcasting features. This service could be also of use for those
who transact business purely on their websites. Instead of emailing, they could send documents through a fax server that
could also be viewed on a browser. This
would be less irritating than emails. Fax
broadcasts could be the next trend for doing online business.
Modern Furniture Store
Furniture has improved a lot. They are now ergonomically designed for comfort and following the natural contours of the human body. That goes for beds, chairs and sofas. A Modern Bedroom will have beds that provide more comfort and relaxation during sleep. Note that almost all, if not all, people spend one-third of their lives in their bedrooms. I have posted an online article “Asleep for 1/3 of Your Life”, and relates very much to this. Women are even spending more time in the bedroom, especially doing their make-up and with indecisions on what clothes to wear (hahaha . . .)! Fixing the bedroom is also one of their loves and Modern Furniture is always in their mind and if they come across eroomservice.com on the internet, they will fall in love with all the furniture there. The blending of the furniture on the display pictures is very impressive. You could almost feel being in one of those rooms.
Oh yes, that is one website that I have seen so many exquisite Modern Furniture. The photos are so clear and large that you could imagine yourself in there. It is what I would term as a “One-Stop-Site” for all that a home would need in a living room, dining room, bed room and even kids room. The design and color scheme of the Modern Furniture, especially those that you would see on the slide show, are really ideal for a home. Those styles and colors will not be outdated for so many years to come. Actually most look very futuristic! Those who are planning to buy or redo their home this is one website that would offer a lot. Your imaginations for home theme and designs would find fulfillment in the wonderful furniture at the website. A discount is offered for those who register online and make a purchase.
